About the Role
The Head of Project Operations, APAC is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing project delivery and clinical operations across the Asia-Pacific region. This role ensures the successful delivery of clinical trials by leading and developing high-performing teams, allocating resources effectively, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The position is critical in shaping the strategic direction of project operations while ensuring operational excellence and international competitiveness.
Your Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
• Recruit, develop, and manage project management and clinical operations staff.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance management to ensure high team engagement and effectiveness.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Project Oversight:
• Ensure clinical studies are implemented with high quality, within budget, and on time.
• Oversee resource allocation for clinical research projects and drive operational efficiencies.
• Identify and mitigate risks to maintain compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
Financial & Contract Management:
• Develop and manage department budgets, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
• Work with Project Managers to track project scope, revenue, and financial performance.
• Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and manage scope changes effectively.
Customer Focus & Business Development:
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including sponsors, hospitals, and regulatory bodies.
• Support business development activities by providing input on proposals and research opportunities.
• Drive a culture of high customer responsiveness and strategic partnership.
Quality & Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with quality teams to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
• Champion quality management initiatives to maintain high clinical research standards.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and strategic leader with:
• Bachelor’s degree in a medical, science, or healthcare-related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 15 years of clinical research experience within a pharmaceutical company or CRO.
• Proven leadership experience (8+ years) managing teams in clinical project management.
• Strong knowledge of ICH/GCP and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee multi-phase clinical trials across diverse therapeutic areas.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to think strategically while ensuring high operational efficiency.
